Volume 8, Issue No. 2                                                   February, 2010

ANITA MARGARITA – TOP GUN & TOP COWGIRL SHOOTER!

Anita Margarita - Ocoee Rangers Top Gun

Ocoee Rangers History was made at the February shoot: Anita Margarita was the 1st cowgirl to earn TOP GUN status.  Of course that also made her the Top Cowgirl Shooter. She also shot a “No Misses” match. But she wasn’t the only shooter: 69 cowboys & cowgirls ventured out to send lead down range and listen for the clang of lead hitting steel. And 22 of those shooters heard steel clang with every shot they made, except for the 2 that were required to be missed (a hit would have been a miss). It was a bit chilly, but very sunny and all-in-all a good shoot day.

As usual, the Buffalo Shooters kicked off the action.  In the Long Range Pistol Caliber Lever Action Rifle competition, 5 shooters tied and then had to have a shoot-off to determine the winner: Mongo said to be sure to mention that he was 1 of the 5. Marshal Too Tall won that shoot-off. He also placed 1st in Long Range Single Shot Rifle and .22 Caliber competitions.  Tin Pot placed 1st in Long Range Pistol shooting.

The Top 10 Shooters for the day were: (1) Anita Margarita (2) S.A. Pondwater (3) Pleasant (4) Ocoee Red (5) Clancy O’Conall (6) Festus D. Deputy (7) Judge’m All Duncan (8) Doc Duncan (9) Marshal W.D. and (10) Click Bang.
