Amorous Ali Shot A Perfect Match & Was Top Lady Shooter!

It was a gray day at the February Shoot, but it didn’t rain. And it was a good shoot.  72 people played the game. 71 finished, and there were some notable results.  Amorous Ali shot a Perfect Match, no misses – no procedurals, and she was the Top Lady Shooter.  Loose Cinch, shooting Outlaw, missed only 1 shot.  That was noteworthy because Outlaw shooters shoot their pistols and shotgun from the hip.

Ocoee Rangers monthly shoots are adventures.  You never know what you’re going to encounter when you arrive at the range. First, there’s the assignment of posses.  You might be assigned to shoot with someone charming, like Amorous Ali, or Mrs. Pleasant or some of our other lady shooters, or Yankee Dutchman, or.  You get the idea. Or you might be assigned to shoot with Marshal Too Tall.

 Then there are the stages. What memory teasers will be there to bamfoozle you as you engage the targets.  No Too Tall. Engaging the targets has nothing to do with weddings.  It means shoot’em.  

 And then there’s the possibility of encountering new faces. Someone new to Cowboy & Cowgirl Shooting may be there, or someone new to Ocoee Rangers shooting.  And sometimes, faces are just new. For example at the February shoot, Clancy O’Connal showed up decked out in 10 gallon cowboy hat, pistols, and sagebrush: a brand new ….. red beard.  He sorta looked distinguished.  Imagine Too Tall with a red beard: he’d look ….. extinguished?  And then there are families that play the game together. Ocoee Rangers shoots bring together special folks and colorful folks.

Unpleasant was the TOP GUN, narrowly besting Hurricane Charly by 2 rank points and 2.3 seconds. That’s close. The Top 10 Shooters were (1) Unpleasant (2) Hurricane Charly (3) Clancy O’Conall (4) Marshal Too Tall (5) Undertaker (6) Tabasco JOT (7) Jackalope (8) Marshal W.D. (9) Ocoee Red and (10) Purly. 

 14 people shot Matches With No Misses: Unpleasant, Marshal Too Tall, Undertaker, Tabasco JOT, Jackalope, T-Bone Angus, Pleasant, Dustin Clays, Tin Pot, Amorous Ali, Deadman, Bad Eye Tom, Hide Cutter, and Sundance McNeyman.

 The cat people were also out in force.  Wildcat Wilkey and Polecat Carl appeared armed with identical looking Modern Sight pistols.  They’re pictured below looking down the barrels of their trusty 5-shooters.  Shucks, us SASS folks load only 5 rounds, pardner.

Marshal Too Tall and Jackson Longstreet split the Buffalo Shoot. Too Tall won the .22 Cal. & the Long Range Lever Action Rifle shoot. Longstreet won the Long Range Single Shot Rifle and Long Range Pistol shoots. And finally, Clancy O’Conall won the New Beard Growing Contest. It’s red, and he likes it!
