HOW CAN I BECOME AN OCOEE RANGER?
Would you like to become a member of the Ocoee Rangers Cowboy & Cowgirl Shooters? It’s real easy. Just come out and shoot with us. If you consider yourself an Ocoee Ranger, then you are one. There are no membership fees. And if you want an Ocoee Rangers badge, just see Ocoee Red to order one. … And if you don’t want a badge, or think they’re too expensive, then don’t worry about it. Badges aren’t required. We’d like for you to be a SASS member, but that’s not required either. All that’s required is that you shoot safely, have fun, and help your posse conduct the shoot.
Everyone pays the same shoot fee: $10. And if you want to shoot in the Buffalo Shoot before the match, there’s no additional charge. Events are: Long Range Lever Action Rifle … pistol caliber – Long Range Single Shoot Rifle – Long Range Pistol – and .22 Caliber.
The Ocoee Rangers is a Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) affiliated group, but it’s not a stand-alone club. We’re a subgroup sponsored by the Cleveland Hunting Rifle and Pistol Club, of Cleveland, Tennessee. Some, but not all, of us are members of the CHRPC.
So, if you want to be an Ocoee Ranger, come out and join us. We shoot monthly. At our December Shoot, which is held earlier than the 4th Saturday in December, we shoot 3 stages and then go to a local restaurant for a Dutch treat lunch, followed by presentation of Annual Awards and a drawing for prizes.
To be eligible in the competition for annual awards, a shooter must have shot at least 5 matches in 2008.
To be eligible in the drawing for prizes, a shooter must have shot in at least 1 match in 2008, which includes the December Shoot. The prizes are awarded by random drawing, and we buy them with the money collected in the jar on the Registration Table at monthly shoots.
MESQUITE MILLIE’S BADGE. It looks gold here, but the real badge is silver in appearance.
