80 Shooters Participate In June Shoot
If you missed the June Ocoee Rangers Shoot, you missed a good one. Turnout was excellent: 80 cowboys & cowgirls came out to battle the steel bad guys. It had rained the night before, so, there was no haze. The sky was brilliant blue. The greens were clean and crisp. And then Tennessee Hoss, Oracle, Owlhoot Hardin, and Coffee Joe hauled out their shootin’ irons and black powder cartridges and hazed up the place. It was a good day on the range.
Tinker Chapley Shoots as Lightning McCoy Times and Outrider Spots
S.A. Pondwater was the Top Gun of the day. But something different happened: Yazoo City Gal beat Last Kiss and emerged as the Top Cowgirl Shooter, placing 20th in the field of 80 shooters, 6 of whom were cowgirls: Yazoo City Gal, Last Kiss, Cactus Thorn, Roma Jane, Mrs. Pleasant, and Short Fuze. Mrs. Pleasant hasn’t been shooting long, but she missed shooting a perfect match by only 1 shot.
