84 Shooters – 13 Cowgirl Shooters – 33 No Misses Matches!
Lots of things happened at the March Ocoee Rangers Shoot! 84 shooters participated in the monthly campaign against the clang gang (the steel bad-guys). Unpleasant, S.A. Pondwater and Anita Margarita (in that order) once again were the top shooters. 13 cowgirls shot in the match. And 33 shooters shot “No Misses Matches”. We had several visitors join us for a day on the range, and hopefully we made them feel welcome enough to want to come back and play with us again.

It was still a bit chilly when the Buffalo Shooters unlimbered their firearms and started shooting their games. Just in case you didn’t know, there is no charge for shooting the Buffalo Shoot. Anyway, the silent cowboy (are you kidding) TN Mongo won the Long Range Pistol competition. Marshal Too Tall won the Long Range Single Shoot Rifle and .22 Caliber competitions outright. There was initially a 3-way tie for the Long Range Lever Action Rifle competition: Ribeye (a visitor), Fast Harley, and Marshal Too Tall. So, a shoot-off was arranged. Unfortunately, Harley was to be a Posse Leader, and he had to leave for the Posse Leader Walk Through. So when the smoke between Too Tall and Ribeye cleared, Too Tall emerged as the winner of the Lever Action Rifle shooters.
The Top 10 Shooters for the day were: (1) Unpleasant (2) S.A. Pondwater (3) Anita Margarita (4) Ruff Edge (5) Rio Drifter (6) Widowmaker (7) Ocoee Red (8) Marshal Too Tall (9) Festus D. Deputy and (10) Judge’m All Duncan. After the match, a cowboy was joking with Marshal Too Tall and said something like, “What would you think if I adjusted the scores and showed me beating you?” Too Tall laughed and said, “The only way you could beat me would be if I dropped a loaded gun.” Wow! That’s confidence.
