Lots of stuff happened at the February shoot. Lucky Lightburne shot his 1st match as a Gunfighter and shot it clean. Happy Pappy shot his 1st Ocoee Rangers match without a mustache. And Purly got busted. Last month, he was wearin’ major’s leaves on his buckskin coat, but this month he wore sergeant’s chevrons. Whatever he did, he apparently got busted. Just before the shoot, a couple of deer walked along the ridgeline. And 69 shooters rambled out to the range to shoot as Ocoee Rangers. In today’s Cowboy Shooting world, that was really good attendance.

When the smoke cleared, Double Nickle was TOP GUN. Dodge City Dixie was the Top Lady Shooter and placed 10th overall. The Top 10 Shooters were (1) Double Nickle (2) Barkeep Casey (3) Hurricane Charly (4) Unpleasant (5) Reno Mustang (6) Koda Joe (7) Sean Clancy O’Conall (8) Polecat Carl (9) Papa Dave and (10) Dodge City Dixie. In the Buffalo Shoot, Yankee Dutchman won the Long Range Rifle – Pistol Cal. event, and Marshal Too Tall won all the rest: Long Range Rifle – Rifle Cal., .22 Cal. Rifle and .22 Cal. Pistol.
