Where Were You?

If you weren’t there, we missed you at the December Christmas Shoot & Annual Event. It was a bit chilly, but folks were dressed colorfully for the holidays, and it was a fun event. And it wasn’t as cold as the weather guessers forecasted. Of course as the day passed along, it got chiller. But that just made Dustin Clays more comfortable: he came dressed for cold weather. Shucks, for a while, he thought it was a bit hot. And Tombstone showed up with a singing gun cart. Yep, it was decked out in reindeer antlers (no, cowboys, they’re not horns), and Christmas lights, and a built in singer. Honest!

The December Shoot doesn’t count in annual competition, so lots of shooters tried shooting in some class different from what they regularly shoot. For example, lots of folks, cowboys and cowgirls, joined Tombstone in shooting Outlaw: 10 outlaw shooters took the field from a total of 35 shooters: that’s 29% of the field.  And Horseshoe John became a Gunfighter. There he was all squinty eyed and mean looking with his twin six-guns and Santa hat. Imagine that. A few regular Gunfighter shooters weren’t there: they undoubtedly heard Horseshoe was shooting Gunfighter and just gave up. Judge’m All Duncan, however, wasn’t scared away, and he bested Horseshoe and placed 1st in the Gunfighter class. Lightning McCoy was the TOP GUN for December, and Roma Jane was the Top Cowgirl Shooter. The Top 10 Shooters were (1) Lightning McCoy (2) T-Bone Angus (3) TN Tombstone (4) Dustin Clays (5) Ocoee Red (6) Unpleasant (7) Tucson Tuco (8) Tin Pot (9) Judge’m All Duncan (10) Festus D. Deputy. 7 shooters shot No Misses Matches: Lightning McCoy, Tucson Tuco, Festus D. Deputy, Sledge, Colonel Mortimer, Sundance McNeyman and Johnny Lightfoot.
