Wow, It Was Hot!   ….  So Was Hurricane Charly

Gosh, it was hot at the June Shoot!  How hot? Well, someone said that after Ocoee Red’s posse finished shooting one stage, he fried an egg on the back of a target before moving to the next stage. Or maybe he didn’t.  Anita Margarita, who was sportin’ a new hat, that looked really nifty, said she really appreciated the fans at each stage. Of course she was hot in more than the temperature: she was the TOP LADY SHOOTER.  Hurricane Charly was the TOP GUN, and Clancy O’Conall, shooting Maverick Gunfighter as Sean Clancy O’Conall, was the TOP MAVERICK SHOOTER.

How many shooters ventured out to participate in the triple S’s?  Sweat, Shoot and Socialize.  Well, there were 68, counting Clancy twice: he shot in 2 classes, Gunfighter and Maverick Gunfighter.  The Top 10 Shooters were (1) Hurricane Charly (2) Ben T. Iron (3) Ocoee Red (4) Jackalope (5) Widowmaker (6) Barkeep Casey (7) Happy Pappy (8) Clancy O’Conall (9) Marshal WD and (10) Pleasant.

What’s a Gunfighter? A person who shoots with a pistol in each hand. Right?  Did you know that if you count all the gunfighter related categories (Lady Gunfighter, Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter, Senior & Silver Senior Gunfighter, Maverick Gunfighter, Outlaw and Gunfighter) they made up 37% of the shooters at the June shoot.

In the Buffalo Shoot, Marshal Too Tall won the Long Range Rifle – Rifle Caliber competition.  Jackson Longstreet won everything else. Too Tall admitted that they were tied for the event he won, and he won only after a shoot-off. Competition was tough.
