Littlest Cowboys, S.A. Jr. & Marshal Too Tall, Shot With No Misses!
Before the May shoot, there was lots of talk about wanting very large targets placed very close to gun muzzles. Well, they were. Before the match, someone said they overheard Ocoee Red give instructions: “Boys, don’t shoot ’til you see the whites of their eyes.” And folks didn’t. Shooters could see the fillings in the targets’ teeth, and they drilled’em … just like a herd of dentists. 47% of 73 shooters shot with no misses. .. How ’bout that? Take out the cap & ball pistol shooters, and 49% of the gang shot without a miss.
1 visitor, Hellbender, came all the way from Louisiana to shoot with us. Too Tall saw that he was from LA and thought that meant Lower Alabama ….. or Los Angeles.

Speaking of blowing smoke, 5 shooters shot with Cap & Ball pistols: Jackalope, Kid Ziggy, Long Gulch, Fast Harley, and El Paso Slim. Of course their rifles and shotguns were also loaded with black powder. Combine them with Frontier Cartridge Duelist Smokin’ Dave and with Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter Mongo, and there was lots of smoke in the air.

Cumberland Drifter was the TOP GUN, and Dodge City Dixie was the Top Lady Shooter. In the Buffalo Shoot, Jackson Longstreet won the competition in the 50 Yard Pistol and 100 yard .22 cal. events. Marshal Too Tall won the 100 Yard Rifle Cal. Rifle and 100 Yard Pistol Cal. Rifle competitions. If you’re wondering if these are the Long Range Pistol and Long Range Rifle Events, the answer is, “yep.”
