November Shoot & December Shoot & Event Info!

68 shooters participated in the November, pre Thanksgiving, shoot, and it was a good one. We shot flying clay birds, and a large flying bird (the steel circle on a cable) and fun to shoot stages. Stage 5 held a distinction of sorts. Of 17 shooters who missed only 1 target, 9 of them, 53%, missed their single target on stage 5. The other 8 shooters who missed only 1 target had them scattered over the other 4 stages. What does that tell you? Nothing really. Right Too Tall?

 

On 1 stage, a rooster was hiding behind a bale of straw. After the shooter finished shooting all the steel crazed turkeys, he / she plucked the startled rooster from behind the straw and said, “This ain’t a turkey, it’s a duck!” Of course it wasn’t a duck, it was a chicken. Even Too Tall recognized that. Some cowboys recognized it so profoundly that they wanted their pictures taken with the barn yard fowl. (How ’bout that prose, Owlhoot?)

The Top Gun was Papa Dave, shooting Grand Patron. Dodge City Dixie was the Top Lady Shooter. The Top 10 Shooters were (1) Papa Dave (2) Unpleasant (3) Barkeep Casey (4) S.A. Pondwater (5) Happy Pappy (6) Marshal Too Tall (7) Ocoee Red (8) Jackalope (9) Hurricane Charly (10) Reno Mustang. Buffalo Shoot Winners were Jackson Longstreet (.22 Cal. & Long Range Pistol), Tenn Smoke (Long Rifle Cal. Rifle), and Marshal Too Tall (Long Range Pistol Ca. Rifle). 8 shooters shot with no misses.

December Shoot .. Lunch & Annual Awards Event December 27

 As we did in 2013, immediately following the December shoot, we’ll meet at the clubhouse on the range, have lunch, and then present Annual Awards. The price of the catered lunch is $14 per person. Last year, we got lots of good comments from cowboys & cowgirls about how good the lunch was. The same folks are preparing the grub this year.

 

 2014 Annual Awards presented will be Spirit of the Game … TOP GUN … Top Lady Shooter … Top 10 Shooters … Most Accurate Shooters … Buffalo Shoot Awards … Category Awards 1st through 3rd places.

 

 It would help if you pay for your lunch in advance. That way we can tell the caterer how many meals to prepare. To prepay contact Ocoee Red. (423-476-5303 or ocoeered@hotmail.com) Yes, you can also pay at registration on the day of the shoot, if you haven’t had a chance to pay in advance …. but it would sure help if you could pay in advance.
