Volume 7, Issue No. 9                                            September 2009

WOW! IT REALLY RAINED. WHERE WAS THE REV. ADAM JONES?

Here’s how Ocoee Red described the September Shoot. “Man, it was a real monsoon. After the 2nd stage, we moved all the tables under the sheds, and it wasn’t too bad.  But it really rained. With the water washing over the gravel, it looked like a river.  We got wet, but we had fun. The Rev. Adam Jones wasn’t there, and he sure didn’t use his influence to keep it from raining.” That about says it all for the conditions on the range. But 44 cowboys & cowgirls limbered up their shootin’ arms and battled the moisture and the clang gang (the metal targets).

Believe it or not, 2 shooters shot their 1st cowboy & cowgirl shoot on this very challenging day. Diamond Girl, wife of Clancy O’Conall and mom of Marshal W.D., shot her first match, and between the raindrops, she shot 2 clean stages. Johnny Behand, who accompanied Tio Don and was the other 1st time shooter, shot 3 clean stages. Ranger Ben, a Buckaroo shooting his 2nd Ocoee Ranger match, had 1 clean stage. Congratulations, folks.  Good Shooting.
