Ocoee Rangers Newsletter Vol. 12 Issue No. 9 September 2014
Posted by Deadman in Newsletter1st Annual Leadmine Valley Shoot-Out!
September was the very 1st Annual Leadmine Valley Shoot-Out! 102 shooters completed the match, which consisted of 5 quick stages, followed by lunch at the clubhouse, presentation of prizes by raffle, and then the presentation of various earned awards.
When the last shot was fired, and the smoke drifted away, Unpleasant emerged as the Top Gun. Dodge City Dixie was the Top Lady Shooter. The Top 10 Shooters were (1) Unpleasant (2) Cumberland Drifter (3) Barkeep Casey (4) Hurricane Charly (5) Pleasant (6) Purly (7) Duck River (8) Polecat Carl (9) Slater (10) Dodge City Dixie. 43 shooters shot with no misses, but gosh, them targets sure were close. How close were they? If you’d asked Too Tall, he’d have probably said, “They were so close that you could hear the paint crumble when a bullet hit a target.” To which Last Kiss might have responded, “Hitting the targets is the name of the game.” And it was a good game.
The Leadmine Valley Shoot-Out! was special for the Ocoee Rangers. Shucks, it’s our 1t Annual Leadmaine Valley Shot-Out. That means we’ll have another next year. And it should be better than this one. After all, as Too Tall says, practice makes perfect …. or at least gets better results than the 1st time.
