Ocoee Rangers November 2013 Newsletter Vol. 11, Issue No. 10
Posted by Deadman in NewsletterOCTOBER HAPPENINGS
October is a colorful month, usually, although our colors haven’t peaked yet. The orange, yellow, and red leaves and different colored light of fall make it sorta magic. Pumpkins are in the fields for little goblins, like Vicious Nick and Marshal Too Tall, to gather and carve into jack-o-lanterns to celebrate Halloween. We celebrated Halloween on the range with orange and black targets, some even on the revolving Texas star. Our October shoot was a dandy, with several new shooters participating. In all, 64 shooters ventured out on what started out as a chilly morning, but warmed up from either the sun or the muzzle blasts and gun smoke of our shootin’ irons.
When all the shooting was done for the day, Barkeep Casey was the TOP GUN, and shot a Match With No-Misses. Dodge City Dixie was the Top Lady Shooter, placing 19th overall.
9 lady shooters participated in the match, 1 Buckaroo Shooter – Vicious Nick – and, of course Marshal Too Tall, who won half of the categories in the Buffalo Shoot. He captured 1st place in .22 Cal. and Long Range Pistol shooting. Jackson Longstreet placed 1st in Lever Action Rifle competition, and Yankee Dutchmen outshot all competitors in Single Shot Rifle shooting.
The Top 10 Shooters were (1) Barkeep Casey (2) Hurricane Charly (3) Ocoee Red (4) Widowmaker (5) Marshal Too Tall (6) Happy Pappy (7) Pleasant (8) Unpleasant(9) Slater & (10) Wichita Colt.
15 shooters shot No-Misses Matches: Barkeep Casey, Widowmaker, Happy Pappy, Pleasant, T-Bone Angus, Keystone, Dirtwater Fox, Pop Dawson, the Rev. Adam Jones, Deadman, Horseshoe John, Wildcat Wilkey, Tennessee Hawk, Raw Flint, and Smokin’ Dave.
