Ocoee Rangers Battle Galveston Pirates And Their Parrot
Yep. We did. On stage 5, Galveston pirates were raiding a shipload of cattle, and the Ocoee Rangers, 5 posses of them, drove off the pirates to save the sirloin. The pirates’ parrot flew away back from the action and then perched to view the mayhem. Off the clock, each Ranger had a chance to load 1 round in his or her rifle and pop the parrot for a 5 second bonus.
A Posse of Smiling Shooters And One Scowling at the Camera.
Here’s 1 posse of Ocoee Rangers. Notice that all, except scowling Festus, have big smiles on their faces, even Tin Pot, whose family says that he never smiles in pictures: he says he smiles inside. The smile escaped this time: it shows. Festus adds balance: he’s the anchor.

In the Buffalo Shoot, Outrider won the 100 yard Lever Action Rifle competition in a shoot-off with Marshal Too Tall, but ol’ Too Tall recovered and placed 1st in both the Single Shot Rifle and .22 Cal. competitions. Once again, Sundance McNeyman won the Long Range Pistol competition.
Unpleasant was the TOP GUN of the day, and Last Kiss, who once again shot in the overall Gunfighter category, was the Top Lady Shooter. The Top 10 Shooters were: (1) Unpleasant (2) S.A. Pondwater (3) Marshal Too Tall (4) Festus D. Deputy (5) Polecat Carl (6) Ocoee Red (7) Fiddleback (8) Slater (9) Pleasant and (10) Yankee Dutchman. 13 shooters shot matches with no misses: Unpleasant, Festus, Ocoee Red, Lightning McCoy, Sudden Sam, Tin Pot, Tennessee Hoss, Bad Arm Slim, Sundance McNeyman, Outcast, Wildcat Wilkey, Raw Flint & Deadman.
