40 Shooters Usher In 2013!

January, assuming the weather isn’t nasty, is usually 1 of our biggest shoots of the year. But this year, nasty weather was forecast all around, although it was only chilly on the range, and our attendance suffered. Only 40 hardy shooters gathered to battle the weather and the targets.

Hurricane Charly was the TOP GUN.  Last January, he placed 2nd.  Evidently he made a New Year’s resolution to shoot better, and it must have worked.  Last Kiss, shooting Gunfighter, was the Top Lady Shooter.  The Top 10 Shooters were: (1) Hurricane Charly (2) Ocoee Red (3) Unpleasant (4) Purly (5) Marshal Too Tall (6) Pleasant (7) Marshal W.D. (8) Fast Harley (9) Happy Pappy and (10) Tabasco JOT.

6 shooters shot Matches with No Misses: Tabasco JOT, Clancy O’Conall, Yankee Dutchman, Tin Pot, Hide Cutter and Sundance McNeyman.  And Mrs. Pleasant was the 1st Lady Shooter to shoot in a new category that some of the ladies have created: the Hot Chicks. Here are the qualifications to shoot as a Hot Chick: (1) be a Lady Shooter (2) shoot any style the shooter desires and (3) must be experiencing, at least sometimes, hot flashes.  No, Too Tall, you don’t qualify.

Those who participated said they had a good shoot and couldn’t understand why more people didn’t show up.  They also said that several experienced mental lapses. That means they had procedurals. Several colorful metaphors were heard, followed by, “Oops.”  There was no Buffalo Shoot. Too Tall couldn’t remember where the Buffalo Shoot was held, and by the time he found the site, the main match was ready to begin.
