Tio Don … Rainmaker!
We had a very good turnout for the June Shoot: 63 Shooters. Sure, attendance was down a bit, but it rained before the shoot, drizzled during the pre-shoot meeting, drizzled at times during the shooting, and for a while, it rained like pouring ….. well, it rained like pouring water out of a boot. The drizzle and pre-shoot rain was from Mother Nature. But the down pour? Consider this. Only Tio Don and Marshal Too Tall shot Outlaw, 2 competitors. And the down pour happened halfway through the shoot, just as Too Tall laid his long guns down on the shooting table to shoot the stage. Who had motive (placing 1st) and opportunity (seeing Too Tall ready to shoot)? Only Tio Don. …. So, it stands to reason that he made it rain. Right? ….. Anyway, it sounds reasonable to Too Tall and this word scratcher.

Who won? Shucks, everyone who shot won, but Hurricane Charly was the Top Gun. He got soaked, but that didn’t slow him down, or mess up his accuracy. Last Kiss was the Top Lady Shooter. The Top 10 Shooters were (1) Hurricane Charly (2) Marshal W.D. (3) Slater (4) Cumberland Drifter (5) Barkeep Casey (6) Papa Dave (7) Unpleasant (8) Dead Lee Shooter (9) Ocoee Red and (10) Polecat Carl. In the Buffalo Shoot, Yankee Dutchman won the 50 Yard Pistol shoot. Unpleasant won the .22 cal. competition, “by a hair”, according to an unnamed source. Marshal Too Tall won both 100 Yard Rifle Shoots, Pistol Cal. and Rifle Cal.. 11 shooters shot with no misses.
